Te Au Moana, Maui’s Luxury Luau

Let your cares drift away as you dine and relax at this premier oceanside luau. The Te Au Moana Luau on picturesque Wailea Beach has it all:

  • An amazing setting overlooking the Pacific and the white sands of Wailea Beach
  • An open bar that includes signature tropical cocktails, plus all your favorites
  • A delicious three-course luau feast served tableside
  • An original luau show featuring live music, hula, and Polynesian dance, with a fire-knife finale.

Additionally, Te Au Moana’s central location can’t be beat. Conveniently located on Maui’s Wailea Beach, the Wailea Beach Marriot Resort is close to several large resorts on Maui. So close that you could easily walk there from its neighboring resorts the Grand Wailea, Four Seasons Maui, Andaz Maui, and the Fairmont Kea Lani.

We recommend arriving early because you’ll want to check out the resort’s stunning grounds and take a few photos of Wailea Beach before the luau begins.

You may as well keep those cameras at the ready all night because there is so much that you’ll want to capture at Te Au Moana Luau. There’s the ceremonial uncovering of the imu (earth oven), the fabulous platters of food, the gorgeous Maui sunset, and of course, the unforgettable luau show.

And of course, you’ll also want to capture all those special moments shared with your loved ones. After all, that’s what luaus are all about, aren’t they?

Pre-Dinner Activities at Te Au Moana Luau

After check-in, the festivities begin with a traditional Hawaiian luau welcome. Te Au Moana guests are welcomed with a lei greeting. This may be a fresh flower lei or one made of painted kukui nuts and is subject to availability.

Then, after check-in and posing for a few photographs, you’ll be treated to live Hawaiian music and an open bar. Temporary Polynesian tattoos and a craft station are also available for kids of all ages!

Complimentary non-alcoholic drinks include soft drinks, juice, and iced tea. Complimentary alcoholic options include Maui Brewing Company beers and both signature and classic tropical cocktails, such as:

  • Te Au Moana Mai Tai (light & dark rum, orange & guava juice)
  • Wailea Sunrise (tequila, grenadine, guava & pineapple juice)
  • Maui Mule (vodka, ginger beer, pineapple juice)
  • Blue Hawai’i (vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice)
  • Lava Flow (rum, strawberry purée, coconut, pineapple juice)
  • Piña Colada (rum, coconut, pineapple juice)
  • Rum Punch (dark rum, orange & guava juice)

Hawaiian Luau Feast

Te Au Moana Luau serves their three-course feast family-style, right at your table. Your server will bring heaping platters of slow-roasted kalua pork, mahi mahi, beef short ribs, huli huli chicken, and all the appetizers, sides, and desserts you could want.

The dining tables are equipped with large wooden lazy susans, which makes passing and sharing food easy. You’ll enjoy these built-in conversation starters and share some fun quality time with your loved ones and tablemates instead of waiting in a buffet line.

Evening Performance: “The Ocean Tide”

‘Te Au Moana’ means ‘the ocean tide’ in the Hawaiian language, and it is also the name of their original luau show. The show uses humor, music, and Polynesian dance to tell the story of the first Hawaiians. The ocean tide connects all the people of Oceania and has been a constant in the lives of all generations, past and present. Therefore, it is only fitting that it serves as the central theme when telling the story of Hawaii’s first people. And if you listen carefully as you watch this story unfold, you can also hear the real ocean tide in the distance.

The show comes to an exciting close with a thrilling fire-knife performance which you’ll be talking about for years to come!
