Rock-a-Hula Luau is the Place to Be for Live Music!

The Rock-a-Hula Luau Buffet and Show is the perfect non-traditional luau to book if you’re looking for a delicious buffet, live music, and an entertainment-filled evening in Waikiki. The Polynesian rhythms and old-school rock and pop music will have you dancing in your seat while the electrifying fire-knife performance will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Waikiki’s one and only Rock-a-Hula is a phenomenon you will not forget.

The Rock-A-Hula Luau is located in the center of Waikiki’s shopping district and within walking distance of most major hotels in the area. This upscale buffet followed by a musical extravaganza takes place on the fourth floor of the Royal Hawaiian Center.

The Only Rainproof Venue on Oahu

Rock-a-Hula holds their upscale luau-themed buffet dinner on an open-air terrace under a large covered pavilion. After dinner guests move into the 750-seat Royal Hawaiian Theater for the Rock-a-Hula show. This is one of the few activities on Oahu that isn’t weather-dependent because both venues are protected from the elements.

The Rock-a-Hula Luau Buffet & Show is a foolproof way to spend an evening in Waikiki. There’s virtually no commute and check-in is not until 5:30 pm, which makes it easy to coordinate it with all your daytime plans.

Pre-Dinner Activities

Rock-a-Hula guests are greeted in the traditional Hawaiian way – with live music, hula dancers, and a complimentary Mai Tai! (With or without alcohol depending on your preference and age). Enjoy live Hawaiian music as a ukulele player strolls among the tables. A professional photographer will also be making the rounds if you wish to purchase a keepsake portrait. There are also hula dancers who perform during dinner.

Hawaiian Luau Feast

The Rock-a-Hula luau buffet incorporates many locally grown or produced ingredients and has one of the best selections of vegan and vegetarian options in Oahu. While there is no imu (earth oven) at this gathering, slow-roasted Kalua pork is the featured entrée. You’ll find a carving station for a whole suckling pig and a prime beef roast. Other entrees include a Teriyaki Glazed Chicken and baked fish. In addition, there are many different traditional Hawaiian and Asian dishes, as well as a large selection of starters, salads, and other side dishes. (Full menu listed below).

Once you’ve finished with dinner there’s a group hula lesson, which you can choose to join or not. And then it’s time for dessert. The dessert buffet features an ice cream sundae station with toppings galore. You’ll also find a selection of cakes, fresh fruit, and haupia (Hawaii’s traditional coconut pudding).

After the meal service, there is a short break to give guests a chance to find their way to their premier seats inside the mezzanine-style Royal Hawaiian Theater. Once settled, get ready for an evening of high-energy, Las Vegas-style entertainment.

Evening Performance

Prepare to be blown away by this impressive Las Vegas-caliber multimedia stage production! The Rock-a-Hula Luau Show was designed for Hawaii by the creators of Las Vegas’s world-famous Legends in Concert. This is the largest and most highly produced show in the area, however, every bit of it is 100% live.

The show features two extraordinary tribute artists. These talented performers bring Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson back to life right before your eyes. Their exceptional talent will captivate you as you enjoy their award-winning tribute performances.

Rock-a-Hula Luau Show: Telling the Story of Hawaii’s Past through Pop Music

Joining forces with these skilled tribute artists are Hawaii’s top musicians and a vibrant ensemble of performers. They will bring the most loved tunes of the last 80 years to life. Enjoy some of your favorite pop songs while they take you on a musical journey through Hawaiian history from the 19th century to the present. The show also features some of the best dancers in the islands. First, they will mesmerize you with their Hawaiian and Tahitian hula and then seamlessly transition to dancing along to pop music.

Prepare to be swept away by the blend of Polynesian beats and classic rock and pop melodies. This toe-tapping experience will keep you mesmerized, and don’t miss when the thrilling fire-knife performance sets the stage on fire (literally). The unbelievable fire-knife dance performance introduces yet another awe-inspiring and talented performer on the stage. It is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. Rock-a-Hula is a show like no other, and one you will not forget!

Following the performance, guests will have the opportunity to meet with the ensemble of gifted performers and have their photos taken with them.
