Celebrate Hawaiian Culture at Maui’s Longest Running Luau

The Myths of Maui Luau held on the lawn of the Royal Lahaina Resort, sits on twenty-seven lush acres along the world-famous Ka’anapali Beach. With a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the sound of the distant surf in the background, there is no better place on the island to take in a sunset, relax, and enjoy an evening of food and fun.

The Myths of Maui Luau has been welcoming guests since the early 1970s, offering a traditional resort-style luau to guests seven nights a week. As the island’s longest-running luau, it has become something of a Maui institution. Over the years the Myths of Maui Luau have perfected their Hawaiian luau.

With a menu that reflects the eclectic culinary history of the islands, and a Polynesian show that showcases the music and dance of the South Pacific, it’s got everything that you’re looking for in a luau. And of course, we can’t forget about the incredible oceanfront setting! From the initial lei greeting to the fiery finale, you’ll be glad you decided to join the party.

Pre-Dinner Activities

To kick off the festivities, guests enjoy a warm lei welcome. Then it’s time to enjoy the live Hawaiian music, the spectacular view, and a complimentary tropical drink. The onsite full-service bar serves all your favorite tropical drinks, as well as a limited selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. There’s a group hula lesson held for those who wish to join the fun. Additionally, Myths of Maui holds an imu demonstration right before dinner service begins. Be sure to have your camera ready when the roasted Kalua pig is removed from the traditional Hawaiian in-ground oven.

Hawaiian Luau Feast

The Myths of Maui all-you-care-to-eat buffet offers a blend of traditional Hawaiian foods as well as many Asian-inspired dishes. Try Kalua roasted pork, Lomi Lomi Salmon, Poi, and Haupia, and other local favorites. Myths of Maui Luau also provides the only keiki (child) friendly luau menu on Maui. Therefore, don’t be surprised to see Mac & Cheese and Chicken Nuggets in addition to the traditional luau fare. Additionally, many food items are suitable for gluten-free, vegetarian, or vegan diets.

Evening Performance

End your picture-perfect evening under the stars with an exciting luau performance. The evening show is a journey through the Polynesian islands. Myth of Maui’s talented cast of dancers and musicians takes you on a tour through Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, and New Zealand, highlighting the music, dance, and cultures of Polynesia. And of course, this spectacular show ends with a thrilling Samoan fire-knife dancing performance. It’s the perfect way to bring an unforgettable evening to a close.
