Ka Moana Luau features live Hawaiian music, fun-for-all-age cultural activities, a farm-to-table luau buffet, and a thrilling Polynesian show. Its convenient harbor-side location, proximity to Waikiki, and short length (just over two hours) also make it easy to coordinate with any boat tours, excursions, or other activities that you may have planned.

The Historic Aloha Tower

The Aloha Tower is a local landmark and a former lighthouse that overlooks Honolulu’s bustling harbor. Today this classic art deco-style building is a major attraction for visitors. It also serves as the centerpiece of the Aloha Tower Marketplace which houses several shops, restaurants, and Hawaii Pacific University. And of course, it serves as a picturesque backdrop for the Ka Moana Luau.

Pre-Dinner Activities at Ka Moana

A lei greeting and live Hawaiian music will welcome you as you enter. Ka Moana Luau offers many hands-on cultural activities and crafts for guests of all ages. Hula lessons, headband weaving, lei making, and Polynesian tattooing stations are set up on the grounds, and the attentive staff is ready to teach you something new.

Mai Tais and other tropical cocktails are available, as are beer, wine, and soft drinks.

Hawaiian Luau Feast

The buffet features many traditional Hawaiian foods. There’s slow-roasted Kalua pork, Lomi Lomi salmon, poi, and poke, as well as many other local favorites. Ka Moana Luau is catered by the Chart House Restaurant, a Waikiki institution beloved by locals and visitors alike. They proudly serve many organic, locally grown, or sourced ingredients as well.

Evening Performance

After dinner, embark on a journey across Ka Moana (the ocean) and immerse yourself in the chants, dances, and songs from the diverse islands that form Polynesia. You’ll enjoy an evening full of live Hawaiian music and exciting performances as you tour the Pacific Islands. The audience will learn about the history and culture of Polynesia through the art of dance, music, and hula. The show culminates with an electrifying performance of Samoan Siva Afi, or fire-knife dancing.

Getting There

Ka Moana Luau offers round-trip transportation from several pick-up locations in the Waikiki area. This is the easiest and most comfortable way to get to the luau and can be added to your reservation during the check-out process.

Using taxis or rideshare apps to get to this venue is also a good option.

Parking at Ka Moana Luau

Public parking is available nearby, with Piers 5 and 6 parking lots being the closest to the venue. Public parking is $6.00 per hour. Ka Moana Luau will validate parking for guests who park in the Aloha Tower Marketplace lot. Valet parking is also available on-site for $10/car.
