Aloha Kai: An Oceanfront Luau with a Spectacular View

Aloha Kai Luau is only fifteen miles from Waikiki, but it feels like a world away. The picturesque oceanfront setting and award-winning Polynesian show set this luau apart from others on Oahu. And you’ll get the opportunity to explore Sea Life Park for free!

Aloha Kai is the only luau on Oahu’s stunning eastern coast. You might enjoy the drive there as much as you enjoy the luau. With the Pacific Ocean on your right and towering sea cliffs to your left, it’s a sight to behold. The beautiful views don’t stop once you arrive at Sea Life Park, either. The Aloha Kai Luau grounds overlook the Pacific Ocean, Rabbit Island, Makapuku Lighthouse, and the Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline.

Pre-Dinner Activities

Once guests make their way through Sea Life Park and arrive at the event grounds they are greeted with a lei and live Hawaiian music. There are several cultural activities to take part in and mini-demonstrations to watch before dinner begins. These activities may vary, but often they include hula or ukulele lessons, hands-on crafts like headband weaving or lei making, and short demonstrations on coconut tree climbing or fire starting.

Activity time is brought to a close by the imu ceremony when the roasted pig is unearthed and removed from the in-ground oven.

Hawaiian Luau Feast

The luau feast is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet. The main entrée is the roasted Kalua pork, accompanied by chicken and fish entrées, several sides, and salads. Featured traditional dishes include poi and Lomi Lomi Salmon. And of course, there is cake and coffee for dessert. The full menu is listed below.

Drinks are available at the tiki bar. Aloha Kai serves a limited selection of alcoholic drinks, including Mai Tais, beer, and wine. Soft drinks, fruit punch, coffee, and hot tea are also available.

Evening Performance

Aloha Kai Luau’s award-winning Polynesian show features dancers and performers representing the various Polynesian islands and their respective cultures. This talented group of performers will impress you with their grace, rhythm, and skill – and hopefully teach you a few things about Polynesian culture along the way.

Some lucky luau guests will even show off their hula skills during the show. Of course, the highlight of any luau show is a thrilling fire-knife performance, and Aloha Kai’s fire-knife dancers will not disappoint!

Sea Life Park

In addition to the luau, Aloha Kai grants general admission to Sea Life Park to all guests.

Sea Life Park is an outdoor aquarium dedicated to marine life education and conservation. Although it is small, the park has many shows, exhibits, and interactive programs that allow guests to experience Hawaii’s marine life up close. This includes sea turtles, sharks, dolphins, sea lions, fish, and sea birds. Sea Life Park is an ideal stop for families traveling with children, but also fun for adults interested in Hawaii’s marine life.

The park is open daily from 10 am until 4 pm. Passes can used the day of the luau, as well as before or after the luau.
