When you’re on vacation, the last thing you want to spend time on is figuring out how to get around. Especially on Oahu, where there’s so much to see and do! Lucky for you, many activities provide round-trip transportation. Most sightseeing tours start and end in the Waikiki area, where most hotels are located.

But do luaus offer the same convenience?

Since most luaus also involve an alcoholic beverage or two, it would only make sense that round-trip transportation would be offered, right? Fortunately, most venues do offer the option to add transportation to your luau package. (It’s not usually included in the price of the activity).

That’s good news because this piece of Hawaiian culture is one of the activities that every visitor should experience at least once. Here are a few popular luaus that offer transportation.

Ka Moana Luau at the Aloha Tower

Ka Moana Luau’s evening show is one you won’t forget!

Located at the Aloha Tower in downtown Honolulu, guests will enjoy an incredible luau highlighted by flavorful food and award-winning performances.

Just 20 minutes from Waikiki, Ka Moana Luau is fairly easy to get to if you have a car. However, many people still prefer to let someone else worry about driving. Parking fees in the area can be quite hefty too.

The luau offers guests the opportunity to be picked up and dropped off at designated locations throughout the Waikiki area. It’s a safe, comfortable ride that gives you plenty of time to anticipate the fun to come and get to know some fellow travelers in the process. And short bus rides back from luaus are always a blast!

On Oahu’s North Shore you’ll find the Polynesian Cultural Center, a venue dedicated to showcasing the many cultures of Polynesia.

The Gateway Buffet package includes an evening of great food and unforgettable entertainment. Being on the North Shore, it’s not the easiest luau to get to. At approximately one hour away from the heart of Honolulu, options for public transportation are limited and a taxi would be very expensive.

Guests staying in Waikiki can easily add round-trip transportation to their package. With two scheduled pick-up times, visitors can choose how much time they want to spend at the Center.

When the evening ends, a comfortable coach will be waiting to return you to Waikiki.

One of the most popular luaus on Oahu is Chief’s Luau at Wet ’n’ Wild. This luau features thrilling performances: traditional music and dance, and a breathtaking fire knife dance finale. The all-you-can-eat buffet also offers the best of Polynesian and Hawaiian cuisine.

Chief’s is located in Kapolei, about 40 minutes west of Waikiki. Guests can add on round-trip transportation from multiple locations in Waikiki for an additional fee.
